God

To live life to please oneself is to live life always looking for more.   When money is the main focus of our pleasure, life is only as precious as paper.  If material items are the main focus of our pleasure, life is only as precious as the vehicle we drive.  If one obsessively looks in the mirror and finds pleasure, life is only as precious as the reflection in the mirror.  When a person seeks to find answers about life from the world, they only receive what influential people of the world have decided is precious.  When a person drinks alcohol to find answers, they only find emptiness at the end of their drink.  The drug that changes our view of the world only creates denial.  When sexual fulfillment is the main focus of life, then life becomes a shallow, orgasmic blur.  To selfishly use what God has provided, is only a futile attempt to avoid the adversities in life.  What God proclaims in the following verse is:

 “But know this, in the last days perilous times will come;
For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud,
b
lasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving,
slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong,
haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness
but denying its power.  And from such people turn away!

                                                                                               ~ 2Timothy 3:1-5

What happens when we seek the light of Jesus Christ in the midst of our darkness only to find our flashlight without batteries?  Will Jesus help us find batteries or will we continue to seek answers in the dark?   The answer is Jesus has the batteries, He already put them in our flashlight, all we have to do is turn it on and follow the light!

God is saying that Jesus Christ is the light that pierces darkness, sin and Satan.  God is not at fault or to blame for the death of our children.  God did not want death, sin brought death, but God gave us a way to be free from death and sin.  Knowing Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior is the way.  What God proclaims in the following verses is:

“Who among you fears the Lord?  Who obeys the voice of His Servant?  Who
walks in darkness and has no light?  Let him trust in the name of the Lord and
rely upon his God.”

                                                                                               ~ Isaiah 50:10

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was
God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through him
and without Him nothing was made.  In him was life, and the life was the light
of men.  And the light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not
comprehend it.”

                                                                                               ~ John 1:2-5

Why do some people escape long-suffering pain?  Why do some people encounter long-suffering pain?  Does pain care what color a person’s skin is?  Does pain care where you are born or where you live?  Does pain care how much money you have?  Does pain care how old you are?  Does pain care if you are good or bad?  Does pain care if you’re a Christian or not?  Does pain care where you work or if you work?  The answer is no!

Most Christians believe God will not give us more than we can handle.  The problem is people seek out all kinds of sinful behavior to handle life.  People aren’t handling life God’s way; they’re handling life their way.  So God may not give us more than we can handle, but the sinful nature of life will.

What God proclaims in the following verses is:

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more
death, nor sorrow, nor crying.  There shall be no more pain, for the former
 things have passed away.”

                                                                                               ~ Revelation 21:4

“Because of our conscience view toward God we endure grief-suffering
wrongfully.  For to this we were called, because Christ also suffered for us,
leaving us an example, that we should follow His steps.”

                                                                                              ~ 1Peter 2:19-21

Its not that God wants His children to die, for parents to suffer or for any person to encounter the horrors of this life.  God wants us to live abundant and fruitful lives.  He wants us to serve Him and minister to those who do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  Yet, God knows until we reach heaven we will have times of suffering.  Until then He has given us Jesus, the Holy Spirit, His promises, the Bible, prayer, unity with fellow Christians, hope and unconditional love.  Now that is love.

God knows family and friends have all kinds of excuses not to involve themselves in loved ones lives.  God knows these same people spend hours watching television, playing video games, using the computer, and doing other unnecessary activities.  God understands people have reasons they cannot be available but the Bible does not accept excuses.  What God proclaims in the following verse is:

“Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving
preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving
the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in
prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.”

                                                                                              ~ Romans 12:10-13

God’s desire for all of His children is that none will perish.  God created us to live a heavenly existence.  God provided us with all we need.  God is our heavenly Father and we our His children.

God gave Adam and Eve free will to make their own decisions and God created paradise on earth for Adam and Eve.  All they had to do was obey God’s request not to eat from the tree of knowledge, of good and evil.  Instead Adam and Eve fell to Satan’s temptation and ate fruit from the tree of life, starting all the evil adversities people face in life, including sin and death.  What God proclaims in the following verse is:

“Lord make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that
I may know how frail I am.  Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths,
and my age is as nothing before you; certainly every man at his best state is
but vapor.”

                                                                                               ~  Psalm 39:4-5

I know life would have been different for people if I had not died.  Dad would be playing basketball with me, Mom would be shopping with me, BJ would have his best friend back, and Leslie and I, would be spending our lives together.

I know dying at nineteen took away my chance to be married, have children, enjoy more time with family and friends, go places I never have been, or enjoy all a long life would have offered me.

As it turned out, the people who love me have been left with the emptiness of me dying but remember it’s was not God fault, sin brought my death and it was my time to die.  Now I live in the glories of heaven, where there are no problems and I don’t want to leave.  So for everyone who knows and loves me, I will stay right here and wait for you.  By the way, God let it happen!
